Sonequa Martin-Green is an American actress and producer born on March 21, 1985 in Russellville, Alabama, USA who is known for her roles as Sasha Williams in The Walking Dead and as Tamara in Once Upon a Time. Sonequa Martin-Green net worth is $2 million USD estimated.

Sonequa Martin-Green completed her degree in theater from University of Alabama in 2007 during that she was working for many small independent projects which had already got her the spot in the industry but she made her Hollywood debut with Toe to Toe opposite Louisa Krause as Tosha Spinner, story of a girl who tries to get out of the poor neighborhood and move to chase the dreams of her life.

In this movie she starred along-with Louisa Krause, who is her friend who always try to undermine her efforts for good future. The movie which was not a commercial hit but got her good film critics review. While she started her Tv chareer with  NBC’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Kiana Richmond in 2008. The crime thriller in which her role was of few episodes landed her the first major series, Army Wives as Kanessa Jones next year.

But her major and serious adult role was in, The Good Wife along-with Julianna Margulies.  Sonequa Martin-Green was part of the series for two seasons later she departed her ways and appeared for some time on Gossip Girl and NYC 22 in 2011. but her breakthrough was in 2012 when she was chosen for the role of an original character, Sasha sister of Tyreese for Sonequa Martin-Green The Walking Dead.

The show which revolves around zombie apocalyptic story and few survivors who are looking for same living. But in real she was auditioned for another role of Michonne albeit for which Danai Gurira was later selected, Green was then made an offer to accept the role which according to the directors was the role excursively made for her.

Sasha which in start was a reacquiring character appearing in seldom episodes during the show was later made regular one due to her performance and Green was later signed for full season 4 along-with  Emily Kinney and Coleman.

Sonequa Martin-Green in an interview said that after she was selected for the role she thoroughly read the first chapter of the novel, on which the show was based on but later when she realized that the story has been changed a bit she left reading for many reasons including one, to keep the ending suspense alive.

But when her character ended in The Walking Dead she became part of another science fiction series, Once Upon a Time as Tamara, women who is in continuous effort of cleansing the magic from world. Later in 2016 it was announced that Sonequa Martin-Green would be in lead role in, Star Trek: Discovery where she will be playing the role of  lieutenant commander of the USS Discovery.

Sonequa Martin-Green married Kenric Green in 2007 while working in Fetch Clay, Make Man together at the McCarter Theater in Princeton, New Jersey.
