She started her career as guest appearance on Unfabulous after leaving University of Georgia full scholarship. Though after that she did many small projects but her big debut came when she was selected for Grey’s Anatomy as Jillian Miller.

Though the role and character was limited but her acting was much appreciated which got her the first Hollywood movie, The Hills Have Eyes II. But before she had done small roles in Tv series like October Road, and True Blood and in independent movies like Left in Darkness, Pray for Morning, Vampire Bats, and Southern Comfort.

In the movie Jessica Stroup played the role of national guard named Amber who fought for survival of her team against the human turned mutants.

Her big break was, 90210, a reboot of the Golden Globe Award-nominated series Beverly Hills, 90210 in 2008 in which she had role of Erin Silver, the younger sister of David Silver and Kelly Taylor from Beverly Hills, 90210.

The show’s pilot received mixed views from critics but was attracted 4.65 million viewers. For which she was awarded”Sparkling Performance” award at the Young Hollywood Awards in 2010. From 2007 she was working with many projects Screen Gems remake Prom Night, MTV.com horror film titled Homecoming and The Informers.

Jessica Stroup also appeared in two episodes of  Family Guy. While was at Seth MacFarlane directorial debut Ted, along-with  Mila Kunis. While in 2013 it was announced that she will be part of The Following season 2 in which she will pe playing role of Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) niece, an NYPD police officer working with him on the case to bring the mass killer to justice.

In 2016 she became the cast member of Marvel’s Iron Fist as Joy Meachum the daughter of Harold and childhood acquaintance of Danny Rand’s, whose work building up Rand Enterprises with her brother Ward is threatened to be undone with Rand’s return. The show which aired in March received great applause from critics and viewers.
