Richard Madden started his acting career aged 11 when he joined Paisley Arts Centre’s youth theater program from he he started his television career with series Barmy Aunt Boomerang in 1999 and later was part of film which was adaptation of Iain Banks’s Complicity.

Later  in 2007 he graduated from Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD). During which he solely focused his theater career and was part of plays with Arches and Glasgow Repertory Company and Franz Xaver Kroetz’s play Tom Fool at the Citizens’ Theater in which after he was spotted by elite acting agency Globe Theater which offered him play in London.

Landing him role of Romeo in Golden Theater’s open-air stage play Romeo and Juliet in 2007. Later in 2008 he was part of Malorie Blackman’s Noughts and Crosses production plays.

Richard Madden started his television saga with 2009 BBC production Hope Springs ultimately dragging him to film industry in 2010. His first movies Chatroom and Worried About The Boy were acclaimed by critics for his acting style. But his biggest moment arrived in 2011 when he was selected for HBO series, Game Of Thrones as Robb Stark which lasted till 2013 when his character in the series was killed during the season’s finale.

But this did not stopped him during that time he was part of Channel 4 series Sirens and BBC series Birdsong. In 2013 he signed his first biggest Hollywood role in Disney film Cinderella which was released in 2015. Madden received his first Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card for 2014 miniseries Klondike.

In 2016 Richard Madden landed another big role in Italian TV Series, “Medici: Masters of Florence”, as Cosimo de’ Medici, the son of the founder of the Medici Bank (Giovanni) during the Italian Renaissance.

In 2010 the famous Scottish newspaper, The Scotsman wrote “Madden is one of the hottest young acting talents in the business”.
